Lily and Michael: too late – we have already fallen in love with each other

Why it was hard for me to understand the popularity of online dating sites.

Most young people are so strange these days! They spend much of their leisure time (and sometimes even labour hours) on what seems to be quite silly – dating websites and applications. I have always thought that it is a waste of time – online relations simply can’t be a substitute for real ones. And again: why look for someone online, when there are so many interesting people that surround us in our everyday life? That was the idea I thought to be clear to everyone…

Well, as it turned out, even the deep-rooted scepticism of mine can be the absolutely wrong way of taking things. Why? Because of my ignorance, that was the reason. One simple phrase: you never actually know until you try it yourself! My experience was that I was judging something I didn’t really know! One day I decided to visit one of the dating sites, namely perfectmatch.com – the one created for older singles (it’s my case, you know). I wondered why I did that later – perhaps I just went there to prove it for myself that online dating isn’t as good as everybody says…

When I logged in at perfectmatch.com for the first, my scepticism soon began to show signs of strain. After I while I realized that there were indeed many good candidates among male profiles, that seemed to have much in common with me. But I must admit that it was Michael who found me at this website, not me who took the first step. I remember that he sent some messages to me that made me interested. Now I think that our meeting online was no coincidence – it was something gifted to me from above.

That’s not an exaggeration as you might probably think! That’s something, which is difficult to explain… you know, when you meet the right man, you always feel it. although it was at first a bit unusual for me to exchange thoughts online, Michael proved to be a smart man and sensitive online companion. Can you imagine that once we exchanged messages from the morning till it was midnight! After that experience we thought it would be more convenient for both of us to talk to each other via Skype, but that happened to be not enough… so we decided to meet outside the web.
